According to The New York Daily News, Washington a junior at Millersville University was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder of an unborn child. He was also charged with reckless endangering, and his bail is set at $1 million.
According to the district attorney’s office, Washington and his girlfriend were together on Thursday, leading into Friday. Right before she was going to leave he suggested that she drink some water.
After returning to campus, the woman started to feel burning in her throat, and vomited before calling authorities. Prosecutors said, “He had stated previously that he did not want the female to have the child.”
Thankfully the woman and her two-month-old fetus were left unharmed.
Brian Hazlett, the college’s vice president of student affairs and enrollment management said, “It is very disturbing to me personally because I consider our students to be our family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and we’re doing everything we can to make sure she is OK.”
