Unreleased Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphone pictures leak

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge revealed in biggest leak yet

Pictures of Samsung's long-anticipated Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones have leaked online, just weeks ahead of the company's launch event on February 21. The pictures, leaked by Vietnamese site Review Dao and Chinese microblogging site Weibo respectively, appear to show early production models of the two phones, and back up a number of persistent rumours.

In particular, the Review Dao picture, which shows the rear of the device, appears to confirm the rumours that the Galaxy S7's camera will sit flush with the phone's case - unlike the Galaxy S6 camera, which protrudes.

It also appears to show that the handset will have a curved back, suggesting that rumours of a larger 3,000mAh battery could turn out to be true.

Meanwhile, the Weibo picture shows a device with curved edges, reinforcing rumours that Samsung will launch a Galaxy S7 Edge variant along with the standard Galaxy S7.

The phone in the shot appears to be running a benchmark app, which lists the device as SM-G9350 and shows a score of 134,704 points.

Samsung has already announced that it plans to unveil its next flagship smartphone , the Galaxy S7, on 21 February 2016 - the day before the world's biggest mobile event, Mobile World Congress , kicks off in Barcelona.

The new smartphone is likely to be the biggest challenger to Apple's iPhone 6s this year.
