A convicted murderer has admitted killing his mum just two days after being released from serving a 30-year murder sentence. Steven Pratt, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, admitted killing his mother Gwendolyn Pratt this week. He told police: "I don't want a trial. I'm guilty."
An autopsy found that his mother had blunt-force head injuries. Incredibly, his family and friends had organised a massive welcome party for him as he was primed for release.
Pratt was first arrested in 1984 at the age of 15. He shot his neighbour in the face following a dispute, before being convicted for murder in 1986. His mother died two days after his release, in October 2014.
