Anne Hathaway Speaks on Losing Acting roles to younger stars as she poses braless under chic coat for new shoot

Tough competition: Despite only being 32, Anne Hathaway revealed she's missing out on roles because of Hollywood's obsession with youth and beauty
32 year-old Anne Hathaway admits she struggles to get parts these days because the best roles are going to the next generation of talented younger actresses - despite only being 32 herself.

Anne told the magazine: 'I hate to admit it, but it’s true – there are fewer roles and the competition is just as fierce as ever.

'I look around at my peers and I’m so blown away by their talent and their beauty and their cool style, as well as their ability to be an actress and be a movie star and be good at it.

'I mean, they’re so good and we’re all trying to get the same parts.'

Ethereal shoot: Anne posed for a dreamy series of images in the pages of GLAMOUR magazine, modelling as series of stylish AW15 looks

She revealed that she'd successfully landed roles in the past that were intended for older actresses, so now it's her turn to watch it happen.

'I can’t complain about it because I benefitted from it', Anne explained. 'When I was in my early twenties, parts would be written for women in their fifties and I would get them.

'And now I’m in my early thirties and I’m like, "Why did that 24 year old get that part?"
'I was that 24 year old once, I can’t be upset about it, it’s the way things are.'

Determined: Anne is hopeful she will be able to overcome the ageism battle
