UNILAG ; University of Lagos shuts down over water shortage, epileptic electricity, protest by students

 

The management of the University of Lagos, ordered the immediate closure of the institution, ‎following students’ protests over epileptic power supply and poor water supply. The school in a circular said the closure was also due to the difficulties faced by the “large number of students” living off campus to attend classes as a result of the lingering fuel crisis. see photos and videos after the cut

University of Lagos (UNILAG) undergraduate dies after drinking (sniper) poison in hostel

A 300-level microbiology student of the University of Lagos, Jacob Eniola, has died after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance known as sniper. The victim was said to have been rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, where he gave up the ghost on Sunday. It is, however, unclear why the victim took the poison.
