Kanye West has blast Apple for trying to take down Tidal. In
a string of expletive ridden tweets the rapper claimed the "beef"
between the two music streaming sites was "f****** up music" and urged
the tech giant to "give Jay his check for Tidal". See post after the cut
He wrote: "This Tidal Apple beef is f****** up the music game."
Kanye then proposed a meeting between Apple CEO Tim Cook, Jay Z,
Drake, Apple Music’s Jimmy Lovine to sort out the ongoing feud between
the sites.
"I need Tim Cook Jay Z Dez Jimmy Larry me and Drake Scooter on the phone or in a room this week!!!" he continued.
The rapper then claimed: "F*** all this dick swinging contest. We all gon be dead in 100 Years. Let the kids have the music.
"Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop tying to act like you Steve."
Kanye
is one of many musicians, including Rihanna and Beyonce, who are part
of the "artist owned" music platform Tidal, which Jay Z launched last
year.
It seems from Kanye's rant that the deal may well be going through, though hasn't been a smooth transaction.
Tidal
was unveiled by Jay Z in a star-studded ceremony last year, which saw
artists such as Calvin Harris, Madonna and Coldplay sign up to the
scheme.
The monthly-subscription site offers exclusive content
from the artists on board, including exclusive videos and first listen
to albums.

Apple in Talks with Jay Z to Buy Tidal Music Service
Apple Inc.
is in talks to acquire Tidal, a streaming-music service run by rap
mogul Jay Z, according to people familiar with the matter. Apple
is exploring the idea of bringing on Tidal to bolster its Apple Music
service because of Tidal’s strong ties to popular artists such as Kanye
West and Madonna.
The talks are ongoing and may not result in a deal, these people said. Terms of the potential deal aren't known.
Jay
Z bought the service in March 2015 for $56 million from Swedish company
Aspiro, which had created the brand Tidal. He has given 19 famous
artists and bands small stakes in Tidal and promised each millions of
dollars worth of marketing, according to people familiar with the
matter.
Tidal charges $20 a month for a high-fidelity version of its 40
million-song catalog or $10 a month for standard-quality sound. Tidal
said it has 4.2 million paying subscribers, most of whom it amassed this
year with a string of exclusive releases from stars including Mr. West,
Rihanna and BeyoncĂ©, who is Jay Z’s wife.
Tidal is also the only
service offering the catalog of the late pop star Prince, who was wary
of other streaming services but had a close relationship with Jay Z.
Prince died in April at the age of 57 of an overdose.
