Lawrence McKinney, 60, of Memphis, Tenn., was convicted of rape and
burglary in 1978 and was sentenced to prison for 115 years. He was

After his release, McKinney was issued only $75 as compensation
McKinney is now fighting to receive a $1 million compensation if the
Tennessee Parole Board hears his exoneration case, which they’ve already
denied twice. Jack Lowery, McKinney’s lawyer thinks his client is more
than deserving of the pay out since he can’t be given his 31 years back.
“I don’t have no life, no wife, no child, all my life was forcefully taken away... they should have better killed me” he told CBS News.
