Khloe Kardashian 's ex Lamar Odom is now in a “good place” one year after his near-fatal overdose at a brothel.
The former NBA star was rushed to hospital in Las Vegas after he was discovered unconscious in a Nevada brothel last year.
It had been touch and go as to whether Lamar would survive the overdose, which left the athlete unable to walk unassisted.
After the news broke that Lamar, 36, was in critical conditions, the Kardashians and his family and friends held a bedside vigil and helped nurse him back to health, with wife Khloe leading the pack.
The incident, which occurred on October 13, left Lamar with kidney damage, cognitive impairment and speech problems, according to People magazine.
However, Lamar has made a miraculous recovery and despite a recent incident that saw him allegedly vomit on a airplane, an insider claims that the former LA Lakers star is leading a quieter life.
“Lamar’s life has become a lot more quiet. He is moving back to L.A. from N.Y. and away from some bad influences. He knows he needs to be in a good place to stay healthy,” a source told People magazine.
“A lot of what happened last year is a blur for Lamar but he knows he almost didn’t make it. There are so many people still rooting for Lamar - he’s a good guy. But it’s been very hard for him to keep his demons in check. He’s had a hard life.”
They added:“Now, Lamar seems to be in a good place. He wants to work again and he wants to be healthy. Everyone who cares about Lamar hopes there won’t be any scares again.”
Despite Khloe and Lamar going from strength to strength, their relationship is officially over, with the reality star re-filing her divorce documents again.
