This is the moment police opened a suspect suitcase at a coach station - and found an 11-year-old boy hiding inside. Now the woman who tried to sneak the youngster on board back to her home could be facing up to six years in jail for false improsonment.
Natasha
Vitoriano Souto was stopped as she boarded the bus for 550-mile journey
from Rio de Janeiro back to her house in south Brazil after fellow
passengers claimed to see a hand poking out of her luggage.
When police opened the suitcase, the boy instantly jumped out to the amazement of officers.
Souto, 23, told police the boy had begged her to adopt him, as his mother was a drug addict and he had been abused.
According to Globo TV
she said: "I was going to take him to my house. I found him in the
street in Botafogo near the traffic lights. He asked me 'for the love of
God, adopt me please'."
The child has since been taken into care.
