Donald Trump has
announced that Nigerian-American Omarosa Manigault is now the director
of the African-American Outreach for his presidential campaign in US.
Omarosa, who was a former contestant on Trump’s reality-TV show The Apprentice, confirmed the news to MSNBC yesterday.“I’m happy to take up that cause for Donald Trump,” she stated, adding that her new role was “an extension”
of the work she had been doing at the National Diversity Coalition for
Trump.
Trump reportedly hired Omarosa Manigault to help him win Black
votes as recent polls have shown that he had 0% approval among black
voters in key states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The 42-year-old reality TV star made a name for herself as a ‘TV villain’ in the first season of Trump’s The Apprentice
and also had a lot of negative press during that period as a result of
her intensity and controversial actions. According to a 2004 People
magazine article, Omarosa Manigault was ‘banished’ from four political
jobs in only two years with the Clinton administration. At her last job,
she was reportedly asked to leave almost immediately because she had
been so disruptive.
So how do African-Americans feel about Omarosa Manigault being the head of the Black Outreach for Trump’s campaign?
