British Comedian Russell Brand is set to become a father for the first time, it has been claimed. The
40-year-old is known for his rocky love life with former ex Katy Perry, but is said to be
"thrilled" to be expecting his first child with girlfriend Laura
Gallacher, 27.
According to The Sun , Laura is five months pregnant, and the couple - who have been living together for six months - are excited to start a family.
A
source told the newspaper: “It feels like a new chapter in their lives
and the couple are enjoying every moment, including discussing baby
names.
“Russell is absolutely made up. Most of his closest friends have children and he was desperate to start a family.
“He and Laura are thrilled to bits at the prospect of
becoming parents. They have shared the happy news with close family and
friends.”
In 2010 it looked like Russell was ready to settle down when he tied the knot with Firework singer Katy Perry.
Unfortunately the couple's union lasted just 14 months, before he dumped her via text message.
Russell
went on to date former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell for about two weeks in
2012, and he dated Jemima Goldsmith in 2014, crediting her with helping
to change his wild ways.
