accident occurred near the city of Changzhou, about 120 miles north
west of Shanghai om the on a section of the much larger national G42
Shanghai–Chengdu Expressway.
Scores of people were injured in the crash which happened at
around 1pm over the long weekend as millions of Chinese took to the
roads during the Qingming Festival, also known as the Tomb Sweeping

be seen standing on top of their vehicles as they inspect the carnage
resulting from the pile-up.
