Mother defend herself for buying 15-year-old daughter a waist trainer to wear under her school uniform

A mother who bought her 15-year-old daughter a waist trainer to wears under her school uniform to make her more sexy in school, has insisted she is 'not oversexualising' her. 48 year-old, Karen Green, 48, purchased the slimming device for Tilly, last Christmas, who is a size six to eight, saying she had researched which product would be best for her.

The teenager, now 16, has since upgraded to a new model and wears the contraption 'every day' - and has told her mother that she feels it gives her 'a better shape' under her blazer.

Tilly says her friends have also jumped on to the waist training craze and now compare who has the smallest waist under their school uniforms. 

Tilly said:

 'I love my waist trainer. It's helped me define my figure and given me confidence. Lots of my friends use it and we've seen the results Kylie Jenner and her sisters have achieved. 

'People think you are not mature at 15 but I am and I'm glad my mum is aware of what I wanted and got it for me.

'I can't tell you how many girls I know from schools around here use waist trainers under their uniform. It's the new trend and I think my friends are in awe I can tell my mum about it.' 

Tilly's mother Karen, who has been married to Tilly's father for 20 years, said: 

'Tilly told me 18 months ago that she wanted one. She follows the Kardashians and other celebrities who have been promoting their use.
'I did my research and while I wasn't totally sure I approved of a growing teen having a device which potentially might restrict bone development and growth I knew if I didn't buy it for her she'd get it herself.'

Karen chose a trainer which was 'elasticised and offered minimal pressure' hoping that waist training would 'just be a phase'.

However the fad lasted longer that Karen had thought and Tilly has even snapped up a more specialised corset - and now has a 'super tiny waist'.

'Every day underneath her school uniform she has it on and says it helps give her a better shape in her school blazer, has increased her confidence and when she is out,' Karen said.

Over the past four years Karen said her daughter, 'partly due to great genes, waist training, gymming and dieting' has under a 'remarkable transformation'. She is even compared to her idol Kylie Jenner.  

'The Kardashians are followed by her friends and her,' she said. 'Everything they do Tilly and her friends do as well and Kylie is the Kardashian/Jenner teen who seems to be having the biggest influence on my teen.

'Kylie has talked about using a waist trainer, she's constantly posting selfies of herself and I'm always hearing about her latest make-up, hair and manicure tips.
