The images where taken in Aleppo in Syria, following a Russian airstrike on November 3. Russian
intervention in Syria started in September, as Vladimir Putin backed
President Bashar al-Assad's forces against Syrian rebel groups and ISIS. Earlier
that month, the United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia,
and the United Arab Emirates began to strike targets of the ISIS inside

The
conflict in Syria began in January 2011, after calls for the resignation
of President Bashar al-Assad disintegrated into civil war, with a
number of rival factions fighting Assad's forces, and Islamic State also
capturing important territory. So far, more than 200,000 people are estimated to have died.
As
well as barrel bombings from their own president and cross-fire from
Syrian rebels, the 22 million people of the country have also been
blasted by airstrikes from the America-led coalition and the Russians,
targeted to strike ISIS but on occasion hitting civilian homes.
