As the women gather around the table, pulling notepads out of their
bags, this could be any other classroom. But they’re not here to learn a
new language or a hobby. These lessons could save their lives. The
women – along with hundreds more across the UK – are enrolled on the
Freedom Programme, an 11-week course that teaches victims of domestic violence how to spot a “bad man”.
