A heartless mother threatened to cut out her five-year-old daughter's tongue after she stumbled over her words.
The brutal woman was caught on camera battering the young girl with a broom and yanking at her hair as the youngster cried out.
She then holds a six-inch neck to the girl's neck as she cowers away in fear.
She reportedly lashed out at the defenceless child because she wasn't speaking "like other children her age"
The
woman was recorded lashing out at the youngster in red shorts and
t-shirt while sitting on the front porch of their home in Samut Prakan,
central Thailand.
A shocked neighbour recorded the sickening attack and reported the mother - who has not been identified - to police.
She
was charged with assault and held in custody while social workers
investigated the mother of the girl and her twin sister in the Bangkaew
district.
Pol Col Vichit Boonchinwutthikul, superintendent of Bangkaew
police, said the two twin girls would undergo medical checkup to find
out whether they suffered serious wounds from the alleged beatings.
Child welfare worker Paveena Hongsakula of Paveena
Hongsakula Foundation said the mother told her she was angry at her
daughter because she "did not speak like other children her age."
She said her twin girls had been raised by her mother-in-law
in in a neighbouring province several hours away but her husband
brought them to live with her eight months ago.
The father of the girl now said he will take the children back to live with his mother.
