Wendy Williams doing her show with no make up and street clothes

The US TV host, 52, Wendy Williams turned up to today's show with no make-up on and rocking leggings.

The chat show star, who was dressed in a plain black top and black leggings, said she barely made it on time to filming due to heavy traffic.

"I had to choose - am I going to put on a dress and all that make-up and a show wig, or am I going to eat to live?" she joked after moaning about how long it had taken to get from her house to the New York studio.

Wendy's appearance prompted a flurry of tweets from viewers at home.

 

"OMG! Wendy Williams just burped during hot topics. Love it. No shame. #howyoudoin #wendywilliams," one tweeted.

Another said she looked just as good without make-up.

"I think you look good without make-up. Still glamorous! The burp let us know you're a real person though. LOL."

Elsewhere in the show, Wendy praised newly single Brad Pitt's return to the spotlight at the premiere of his film Allied on Wednesday night.

"So it was a good day for Brad Pitt yesterday," she said. "First of all he’s been cleared of all those child abuse allegations."
