Janet Jackson's husband, Wissam Al Mana - with
whom she's expecting her first child - is a success story in his own
right, although he clearly likes to keep his accomplishments on the
down-low.
So, to get to know the mystery man, here are five things to know about the father-to-be:
1) He's mega-successful in business
According to TheRichest.com
, Al Mana, 41, has a whopping estimated worth of $1 billion, which
makes him one of the richest Middle East investors on the planet. He
owns his very own business, Al Mana Luxury Company, which represents A/X
Armani Exchange, no less. His fashion portfolio also includes Hermes,
Sonia Rykiel, Agent Provocateur and Saks Fifth Avenue.
2) He's a family man
Wissam's commercial success
is, in part, down to his sense of family loyalty. He shares the company
with his two brothers and is often singing their praises. "Between my
brothers and I there is a structure.
We basically handle
different responsibilities and different companies within the group. We
all enjoy doing different things, we all like to put our hands in
certain industries and activities," he told Entrepreneur .
3) He's academically smart
Born in Qatar, Wissam moved to London for his secondary school education, where he thrived.
He then moved to the United States , where he obtained a degree from George Washington University, before returning to the London School of Economics for a Master's in Business Administration program.
4) He sings the praises of his singer wife
“She
is a very special and talented woman who never ceases to amaze me," he
told Harpers Bazaar. "My father was a very humble and down to earth man,
and was known for being very honest and trustworthy.
“I think a
man's dream woman changes as he goes through different stages in his
life. I'm fortunate to be dating my dream woman now.”
5) He'll pay her off if it goes pear-shaped
According to PerezHilton, the loved-up pair initially struggled to reach an agreement over pre-nup terms and conditions.
But,
despite having her own wealth, he's still happy to pick up the tab if
they split. It's reported that he's agreed to give her a "kiss-off" of
half-a-billion dollars if they divorce after a maximum of five years.
Ker-ching!
