A women inside a car becomes trapped while Ellicott City, in America, is pounded by a torrential bout of flooding on Saturday evening. But determined locals weren't prepared to let the woman go without a fight, as the small group proceeded to form a human chain before bringing the woman to safety. Watch Video after the cut

Amazingly, one of the men who initially tries to rescue her is swept away in the flood but is reported to have been left unharmed by the incident.

The driver first steers her car as far towards the group as possible, before the group join arms and outstretch towards the vehicle.
