Calvin Harris has slammed his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift in a series of angry tweets after she confirmed she wrote his song 'This Is What You Came For' featuring Rihanna. The
32-year-old DJ initially complimented his former flame on her 'amazing'
ability to pen smash hits after it was revealed she'd sat down and
written the lyrics before sharing it with him while they were dating.
But
his tweets quickly took a turn; he accused her of trying to tear him
down and said he refused to let her 'bury' him like Katy Perry. (The
Roar star clearly felt vindicated by the comment and chimed in by
retweeting a post from May 2015 which read: 'Time, the ultimate truth
teller.' She also shared a meme that showed Hillary Clinton raising her
eyebrows.)
Calvin
tweeted on Wednesday: 'I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged
it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret,
hence the pseudonym.'
'Hurtful
to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their
way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though.'
'I
figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that
instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.'
'I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow it.'
Vindication at last: Katy later retweeted her comment from May 2015 as she basked in the moment
'Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you've earned a great one.'
Calvin, whose real name is Adam Wiles, concluded: 'God bless everyone have a beautiful day.'
The tweets came shortly after Taylor's representative confirmed she'd written the song under the fictional name Nils Sjoberg.
She told the MailOnline on Wednesday morning: 'Taylor Swift wrote 'This Is What You Came For' under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.'
Calvin
also revealed that Taylor 'sings on a little bit of it too', confirming
that some of the 'oohs' heard in the song are indeed her vocals.
However sources close to Taylor claimed to TMZ
that Calvin is downplaying her involvement by stating that she merely
penned the lyrics and sang a little on the track, because she actually
also wrote the melody.
Calvin had tweeted that he 'wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals'.
Calvin sources did confirm to TMZ that Taylor wrote the melody, but insist it was his work on the track that made it a hit.
The Shake It Off singer ended her relationship with Calvin early last month after 15 months of dating.
And
it has been claimed that their romance broke down because the Scottish
DJ 'disrespected' Taylor after the release of the track.
According to TMZ,
Taylor and Calvin agreed not to release it as a couple for fear it
would overshadow the song, so she encouraged him to record the song with
Rihanna.
But
drama struck after the song's release when the Scottish hitmaker
dismissed the idea of ever working with Taylor in an interview.
