Thousands go naked over Belarus President's choice of words

Thousands of residents have taken to social media to showcase how they are "working unclad" after their President used a strange choice of words. Reports claim that the Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, mixed up his words during a speech on new technology. But the citizens are not taking it likely; they are are posting pictures and videos of themselves naked and scantily-clad at work after their 61-year-old president suffered an unfortunate slip of the tongue. During his speech on new technology, President Lukashenko said: “Innovations, IT-technologies, privatisation – it is all clear. We’ve conquered all of them. But everything is very simply, one should get undressed and work.”

Since then, Belarusians have posted dozens of photos showing themselves naked at their workplace: be it at a desk, behind an industrial oven in a restaurant kitchen or even on a construction site. This tongue-in-cheek campaign was launched on Friday, June 24 (the day after the president’s words).
