Prince was treated for a drug overdose six days before his death, it’s been claimed. According to US gossip website TMZ,
the music icon underwent the treatment when his private plane made an
emergency landing last Friday following his performance in Atlanta. The show had initially been pushed back a week as it was said the singer had been suffering from the flu.
Multiple
sources reportedly told the site that doctors administered a “save
shot”, which they say is typically given to counteract the effects of an
opiate.
They claim doctors advised the Raspberry Beret singer to
stay in hospital but they couldn’t offer him a private room so he and
his team left after just three hours.
Authorities are now believed to be trying to get the hospital records to help determine the cause of death.
Following his hospital stay it was claimed he returned home to recover from the flu. The star was reportedly pictured at around 7pm on Wednesday night visiting a Walgreens pharmacy near to his home.
