An explosion ripped through a bomb making lesson at a Taliban base, killing seven militants. The
jihadis were said to be in a training session on the manufacture and use of
explosives at a madrasa - a religious seminary - in the village of
Mastofi in Ghazni province on Wednesday night.
However, there was an accident and the men were blown to pieces, reports Khaama Press.
Ahmad
Fahim Amiree told Shamshad TV that a Taliban commander was showing
trainees how to make an explosive device, when it detonated.
The commander and six others were killed and two others were wounded.
The Taliban has not yet issued a statement on the accident.
As
well as a growing Taliban insurgency, breakaway militant factions added
to the Afghan government's woes, numerous groups announced allegiance
to ISIS and began taking over territory, expanding the group's foothold
in one of the world's most volatile regions.
The Taliban and ISIS have ideological differences and are involved in a bloody turf war in the central Asian nation.
