Mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain are ready to break the bank to sign Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The are willing to pay Ronaldo - preparing to play Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday - a deal worth a staggering £250,000-a-week AFTER tax. That would be the equivalent of £500k-a-week by Premier League standards, with tax to consider, and almost certainly blows Manchester United out of the water.
It comes after Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes said it would be “impossible” for the 30-year-old to leave Madrid.
But that will not deter PSG. They regard Ronaldo as the perfect successor to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is set to leave next summer when his contract expires.
Ibrahimovic, 34, earns around £220,000-a-week after tax and PSG are ready to go even higher to get Ronaldo.
PSG
president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is determined to help the French giants
recruit superstar names and they regard Ronaldo as the biggest of all.
