In a Periscope video released on Monday, she added :

'It's not just the medal, it's not just you being the bronze medalist, silver medalist, gold medalist, but it's about you putting out an honest effort.
'I feel for the longest time I tried to not think about it not being fair,' Montano explained. 'I had bouts of just being like, 'Why am I in this sport? I'm not willing to to dope, I'm not willing to cheat, I'm not willing to not approach my goals with ethics.'
'[But] I knew I put everything, all my effort, energy and time into doing my very best … and I feel like I did that. Obviously I don't have any medals in my hand still, yet, but with the findings, it looks promising and I'm very very hopeful.'
