A staggering 1.5million people have entered Europe illegally so far this year, it has been revealed. EU President Donald Tusk revealed the figure as a 3billion euro deal to help Turkey deal with the migration crisis was approved in Brussels. "Approximately 1.5 million people have illegally entered the EU in 2015,"

Mr Tusk said.
"Most have come through Turkey. Some seek shelter from war and persecution,
others seek a better life and the few think to destroy our values.
"We expect to see an immediate and substantial reduction of irregular
migrants arriving to Europe."

The deal will commit Turkey to doing more to stop refugees illegally
travelling into Europe and crack down on economic migrants not in need of
international protection.

Around 500million euro will come directly from the European Commission with
the rest of the cash to be provided by EU members at a later date.

David Cameron said Turkey must be involved in helping to find a
"comprehensive solution to the migrant crisis". He added: "Britain will continue to play our role, which is about supporting Syrian refugees in the refugee camps and in Turkey."
