ESPN's Darren Rovell reports that the jersey – in which Jordan scored 44 points against the New York Nicks – was sold for $173,240, which works out at £114,019.

The shirt came with a certificate of authentication from the Bulls.
Previously, a pair of Jordan's shoes had been sold for around $105,000, but the jersey set the record for a single item of memorabilia.
