21 year-old man arrested after he 'accidentally shot and killed his date, 18, while playing with his gun during sex inside in a motel'

 

Tyrone Fields, 21, was arrested after he accidentally shot and killed Christina Meagher, 18, while role-playing during sex on November 7 inside a room at the Microtel Inn & Suites on Church Avenue. He said he removed the magazine from the .9 mm pistol, but forgot to take the bullet out of the chamber. 

Fields pulled the trigger and shot her in the head. He immediately called 911 and told investigators that it happened during 'freaky sex'.

Meagher was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. 

Investigators found a single fired projectile, a cartridge casing and the gun in the hotel room, ABC Action News reported. 

He rented the room at the hotel in person on November 6, the hotel surveillance video shows the victim walking into the room consensually.   

According to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Department, Meagher didn't have any injuries consistent with sexual battery, WFLA reported.

The woman's family is devastated and shocked by the manner in which she reportedly died. 

Fields is being held in the Hillsborough County jail and his bond is set at $30,000. 

He faces one count of manslaughter with a weapon and a felony one charge, according to his arrest record.
