Erin Andrews is suing a hotel chain for $75million after a peeping tom filmed her naked inside her room. The
FOX reporter who co-hosts ABC's Dancing with the Stars was recorded
nude while she was staying at the Marriott at Vanderbilt in Nashville,
Tennessee, in 2008.
Michael David Barrett rented the room next to hers, adjusted the key hole and placed a camera inside to capture a video.
In
December 2011, Andrews, 37, filed a lawsuit alleging Marriott
International and several other defendants were guilty of negligence and
invasion of privacy.
Staff allegedly informed Barrett that Andrews was staying there, allowing him to book adjacent rooms.
In an updated lawsuit, seen by The Smoking Gun, she is now demanding $75million for the change.
Barrett
admitted in December 2009 to renting hotel rooms next to Andrews in
three cities, altering hotel peepholes and shooting videos on his mobile
phone in two locations - Columbus, Ohio, in February 2008 and
Nashville, Tennessee, seven months later.
The divorced father then tried to sell the footage to celebrity website TMZ, who declined.
Barrett posted the footage online himself where it quickly went viral.
In 2010 he was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail after pleading guilty to a number of stalking charges.
