A Chinese man has been arrested after beating his wife to death.
The man left his wife with serious head injuries because she had cracked
the screen of his smartphone.
People's Daily Online
reports that the woman, surnamed Chen, was found dead on September 15
at her home in the city of Yinchuan, China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous
Region.
The 28-year-old suspect, surnamed Su, has been arrested by the
Yinchuan police after a city-wide manhunt. The suspect Su did not have a
steady job and stayed at home all the time, said the police. Before her
death, the couple were heard having a seriuos fight.
It was gathered that the man killed the wife after he left home in
the morning; and when he returned, he found the screen of his smartphone
cracked. Thinking that the wife who had complained of his addiction to
smartphones broke the screen, the man descended on the wife.
Officers said the female victim had been repeatedly struck in the
head by a blunt object, leading to the death. A blood-stained wooden
stick was found at the murder scene.
