Award winner actress Mo’Nique and her husband are accused of not paying their
taxes for two years - and now the government says they owe nearly
$400,000.
The
IRS filed a Federal Tax Lien against Mo’Nique and Sidney Hicks on May
9, according to official records in Georgia obtained by Daily Mail
Online.
The
lien states that the couple, who married in 2006, refused to pay their
taxes for the years 2013 and 2014. In 2013, they owed $201,695.99, and
in 2014, they owed $188,208.99, bringing the total to $389,904.98.
The
federal government has threatened to seize her property and assets if
they don't pay.The couple own a 10,600 square-foot home in Duluth,
Georgia they bought for $2.8 million in 2007.
Mo’Nique,
who won the 2009 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role
in the film Precious, did not appear to have much work in 2013 and
2014.
