The Playboy model and Instagram model Katie May has passed away after suffering a serious stroke attack, she was aged just 34. Los
Angeles-based Katie, who has modelled for Playboy and Sports
Illustrated in the past, was taken to hospital after suffering the
stroke on Monday and remained in critical condition until her death. See her photos after the cut.
She was taken off life support on Thursday evening and died surrounded by her family and loved ones, reports TMZ.
A statement from her brother Stephen May read.
"It
is with heavy hearts that we confirm the passing today of Katie May -
mother, daughter, sister, friend, businesswoman, model and social media
star - after suffering a catastrophic stroke caused by a blocked carotid
artery on Monday,"
Katie is mum to a seven-year-old daughter and the model's family has launched a GoFundMe page to help support her.
"Anyone who was lucky enough to know Katie May was truly blessed by her incredible heart, mind and soul. She was an inspiration and a guiding light to so many people in this world," the page reads.
"Please help us by donating money to support her daughter. We want to raise as much money for her daughter's living trust as possible to ensure she will always be taken care of. Her daughter was Katie's whole life, so please help Katie and her family by donating money."
Katie had a huge social media following and regularly shared modeling shots with her 1.9 million followers.
Her last social media post, shared on Monday, read: “Hope everyone is having a great Monday! It’s very windy here today in LA."
