
Police
stormed a packed train less than 48 hours after the Leytonstone stabbing
after a passenger's umbrella was mistaken by others on board for a
Samurai sword.Half a dozen officers are said to have boarded the busy train at Deptford station in South-East London after passengers raised the alarm, believing that Ray Brown’s umbrella was a weapon.
But
they soon released that the item belonging to the 22-year-old digital
creative from Abbey Wood was harmless, and the train was allowed to
continue on its journey on Monday morning.
A picture posted on Twitter by Mr Brown
showing him with his umbrella shortly after the incident at about 11am
has been widely shared, receiving more than 6,000 retweets and 5,500
likes.
