Wife threw Wealthy husband out of his house to live as a vagrant on the lawn of his $1.3m and changed the locks

Sharafat Khan is forced to sleep outside his Seabrook, Texas, home  after his wife Shahnaz, 61, changed locks in the middle of a domestic dispute, Means he has no access to food, washing facilities or their money. More after the cut...

Concerned neighbors try and help him by giving him blankets and food But his wife stops them, and has even put up signs warning people off .

 She claims they cannot divorce because they are strict Muslims and practice, Sharia law Khan says the split is simply about money, but he can't afford a lawyer

Neighbors fear he could die in front of his own house as he is already very frail and can't walk very well.  

Khan sleeps on the front porch wrapped in a sheet at night, or sometimes goes into the back yard, alongside his swimming pool, for privacy.

But Khan has rubbished the allegation, and says the split is all about money.

He said: 'She doesn’t want to hand over half her fortune', while he can't file for divorce because he can't afford an attorney, and he wants his share of the estate.

Their neighbors are now frustrated as their private dispute has now been made public.

Debbie Scoggins told KPRC: 'He’s wearing the same clothing, it’s dirty. I’m just hoping we can find help for him.'

Laurel Stout, who lives across the street, added: 'He’s very frail, he can’t even walk. I’m afraid he is going to die out here in his yard.

'Allowing this to continue is not in the best interest of anyone.'

Adult Protective Services are believed to be involved in the case, but they cannot make Khan get help. 

According to court documents, in 2008 Khan was charged with assault after he allegedly hit his wife.

An online database also states Khan was the director of the family company Kahn Investments LLC.
