Adele sent to return to music after nearly 5 years as she teasing her long-awaited new song in advert during The X Factor

The Grammy award-winning singer has not released her own music since October 2012 when she made a comeback with James Bond theme tune Skyfall, which won her an Academy Award.
It would be Adele's first new material since the birth of her son Angelo the same year and comes almost five years on from the release of her last album, 21.

Viewers took to Twitter to express their excitement after hearing a snippet of the song accompanied by lyrics on a black screen. It began: 'Hello/It's me/I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet'

It has widely been rumoured that Adele's new album is due out next month but no official announcement has been made
